Full Monty has a very demanding score and parts. Coaching my colleagues through and serving as rehearsal pianist meant being succinct and effective in rehearsals for 3 weeks. Arrangements and cuts shortened the first act to an assigned 45 minutes.
Conductor
In a small side portal to the stage with a full drum-set and keyboard, this was my first experience leading pit orchestra. Reduced instrumentation presented new orchestration challenges.
Matilda

While stage managing in Dallas, I got away to my hometown to music direct a youth production of Matilda for a few weeks. With limited time, we came up with a plan for me to spend 4 hours a week teaching or reviewing music. In a summer camp setting, this was a particular challenge to motivate and teach those who had never done theatre.
